Creamy Steak Stroganoff
After an eventful weekend celebrating my son's birthday, I have some leftover steak that he was not allowed to touch! He had the his own leftover steak for breakfast, before leaving for school. lol Anyway, I grew up on Hamburger Helper Stroganoff, and I (a-hem) hated it. The Italian dressing in this recipe adds lots of flavor to the sauce. I will save any future leftover steak for this recipe. And I love that it has very few basic ingredients, as well as, is quick to make! The recipe is adapted from allrecipes.com.
Ingredients:
2 tbs butter/margarine
1/2 cup water
1 cup onion diced
2 cups cooked diced steak
1/4 cup Italian dressing
16 oz sour cream
1/4 cup milk (optional)
1 package of egg noodles cooked
1/2 tbs parsley
Saute your onion in the butter/margarine in a medium saucepan. Add water to soften and bring to boil. Toss your leftover steak in the Italian dressing and add to the onions. Cook until warmed.
Add the sour cream with a touch of milk to thin out, if needed.
Stir parsley into the sauce. Serve with cooked wide egg noodles.
